Stoneblade Kiridashi, midsize

The Stoneblade Kiridashi is a single-bevel marking knife from Origin Handcrafted, ground on one side only. It is good for whittling and opening things, and not much else.

Origin Handcrafted facets the Stoneblade Kiridashi on the grinder until the surface reads like chipped stone, and no two come out looking alike. The blade runs on 1084 carbon steel bought new, not the reclaimed sawmill steel the shop uses for the Dashi and the Skini. Marc Liss makes it in Balmoral, Manitoba, a village north of Winnipeg, in the same workshop that turns out the rest of the line. Origin Handcrafted quotes eight to ten weeks per made-to-order piece.
