Lumel Studios blows the Stemless Wine Tumbler by hand in its Whitehorse, Yukon hot shop, using glass that runs at least half recycled content. Every glassblower presses a thumb indent into the side while the piece is still hot, so the tumbler sits against the hand rather than slipping in it. The Northern Lights colouring means no two tumblers come out looking the same, since the studio colours each piece by eye rather than from a formula. Lumel runs its hot shop on solar power and holds daily public demonstrations.
