Highball Whiskey Glass — Northern Lights

Lumel Studios blows this highball whiskey glass by hand in its Whitehorse hot shop, with the furnace running. The base is heavy, and the glass costs under sixty dollars.

Lumel Studios blows the Highball Whiskey Glass by hand in its hot shop in Whitehorse, Yukon, and colours each one after the northern lights. Luann Baker-Johnson and her husband Mel founded the studio in 2016, and the shop still runs public glassblowing demonstrations every day. Every glass in the Northern Lights series comes off the blowpipe looking different, since the colour work is done by hand and not from a mould. Lumel also runs its hot shop on solar power and mixes in recycled glass.
