Quartz Co. sews its Heritage winter parkas in its own factory in Montreal, Quebec, the only line we list.

Quartz Co. sews winter parkas in its own factory in Montreal, Quebec, but only the Heritage collection comes out of that factory. The rest of the line is made elsewhere, so we list the Heritage parkas and nothing else.

Quartz Co. says as much itself, though you have to read closely to find it. We flag the company as partly made in Canada, and the Heritage parkas on this site as made in Canada in full.

Yves Trudeau founded the company in Victoriaville in 1997 and called it Quartz Nature. Three brothers bought it in 2015, all of them engineers, and Jean-Philippe, François-Xavier and Guillaume Robert added their own factories in Montreal and Victoriaville in 2018.

Quartz Co. fills the Heritage parkas with 650 fill power duck down of traceable origin. Fill power measures loft, so a higher number buys more warmth for less weight. The shells and linings run largely on recycled polyester, with a PFAS-free water repellent.
