Navvy Boot BCT — Nemesis Olmo

The Navvy is Viberg's heavier, plainer boot, made on the same Victoria line as the Service Boot. Over two hundred operations go into a pair, all in Viberg's own shop.

Viberg builds the Navvy Boot in Victoria, British Columbia, on the brand's Cantilever last, and welts the sole with a 360-degree storm welt that runs the whole way around instead of stopping at the heel. The construction is Goodyear welted, so the sole can be replaced without retiring the boot. Nemesis Olmo, the leather on this pair, is vegetable-tanned in Italy, and Viberg's own product pages name the leather line without stating a country. The company began in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, in 1931; the workshop that builds this boot is in Victoria today.
