Bolda 01A

The Bolda 01A is Lambert & Fils' plainest lamp, with one globe, one arm and no ornament. Nothing else the Montreal studio sells costs less, and we do not call it cheap.

Kwangho Lee drew the Bolda 01A, a polished aluminium pendant light, in Seoul, and Lambert & Fils assembles it to order in Montreal, Quebec. The fixture runs ten inches long on a 16-watt source, and the studio quotes a twelve-week wait per order. Lambert & Fils says its lighting is handmade in its own Montreal atelier, and describes the work as in-house craftsmanship plus outside specialty partners without naming them. Where those components come from is a materials question. The pricier Bolda Atelier version uses enamelled copper. The Bolda 01A does not.

Origin

Made in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where Lambert & Fils handmakes its lighting in its own atelier. Designed by Kwangho Lee in Seoul, South Korea.
