Province of Canada makes cotton clothing in Canada, and runs its design studio and two stores in Toronto, Ontario.

Province of Canada makes clothing in Canada and sells it from two stores in Toronto, Ontario, one on Queen Street East and one on Ossington Avenue. Julie and Jeremy started the company in 2014.

The company states on its own site that all of its products are made in Canada, and it names the categories it holds to that standard: t-shirts, sweaters, crewnecks, hoodies, sweatpants, toques, tank tops and totes.

It does not name the city where the knitting and sewing happen. Its own wording is that the majority of its cotton is knitted locally and grown sustainably, and it calls Toronto home. We list Toronto on that basis, and the company has not stated the city itself.

The jersey runs 200gsm and the organic cotton is GOTS certified.

Materials and process

The cotton is GOTS certified organic, knitted at 200gsm for tees and jersey. Province of Canada states that the majority of its cotton is knitted locally and grown sustainably, without naming the mill or the city.

Ownership

Julie and Jeremy founded the company in 2014 and run it independently. Their own pages give first names only. Two stores trade in Toronto, on Queen Street East and Ossington Avenue.
